Vendor Offers PACS for Small Providers

Dallas-based BRIT Systems has launched a set of imaging software, hardware, and services designed for smaller provider organizations that want to lessen the initial investment and ongoing support of a picture archiving and communication system.

The vendor's PACS "bundle" includes an on-site PACS server, router and archive; licenses for DICOM and Web viewing applications; a CD burner; off-site storage of images and backups; and services for integration of modalities and training. The system also includes an application for monitoring and managing the exam process, a monitoring service and other support.

Upgrade options include order entry with report storage, modality worklist support, a full radiology information system and synchronization for real-time building of a redundant system.
