The 21-bed facility uses the PACS to support computed radiography, CAT scan, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and MRI modalities. The PACs manages and routes about 500 imaging studies a month between the hospital and reading radiologists in the region. More than 60 users at the hospital can pull up images and reports via a Web viewer. Images also can be burned to a disk for patients to give to other physicians.
The hospital has eliminated film and related courier costs except for mammograms, and it is planning to add digital mammography.
