Medicare Posts 2009 Plan Options

Information for Medicare beneficiaries on 2009 prescription drug plans and health plans is available on the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Finder and Medicare Options Compare Web pages at medicare.gov.

The site enables beneficiaries, now or during the upcoming open enrollment period, to use online tools to compare their current coverage to the options available for 2009.

Federal officials suggest beneficiaries have their Medicare card, current medications and mailings received from Medicare, Social Security and their drug plan handy when accessing the site. Open enrollment runs from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31.

Beneficiaries enrolling for the first time or changing their coverage should do so by early December to ensure a smooth transition.
