The Office for Civil Rights within the Department of Health and Human Services has in recent months been expanding its health information privacy enforcement staff.

The office again is looking to fill two senior health information privacy outreach specialist positions.  The role promotes compliance with the HIPAA privacy rule and the confidentiality provisions of the Patient Safety Act. The office in recent days also assumed enforcement responsibility for the HIPAA security rule.
