Early Windows 8 App Targets Clinical Data Integration

The Cleveland Clinic, Intel and Microsoft have developed and will demonstrate proof-of-concept software enabling Windows 8 to integrate with clinical data during the HIMSS13 Conference in New Orleans.

The demonstration will show how Windows 8 can deliver clinical data from an electronic health records system to a clinician’s mobile computing device, says Mark Blatt, M.D., medical director at Intel’s health care unit. Clinicians can use touch to enter data in tablet mode, or with a keyboard and mouse in laptop mode.

The demonstration will be at the Intel (940) and Microsoft (1127) booths.
