New Chair, Board Members at HIMSS

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society has installed its new chair and vice chair for one-year terms, as well as four new board members.

Barry Chaiken, M.D. will serve as chair of the Chicago-based trade association, with Liz Johnson, R.N., starting her second term as vice-chair. Chaiken is founder and CMO of DocsNetwork Ltd., a Boston-based consulting firm. He has previous experience with software vendors McKesson Corp., Confer Software and GMIS Inc. Johnson is vice president of applied clinical informatics for Tenet Healthcare Corp.

New board members include:

* R. Scott Holbrook, executive vice president of Medicity Inc.,
* Willia Fields, R.N., associate professor at San Diego State University,
* Jenifer Jarriel, vice president and CIO at Baylor College of Medicine, and
* Miriam Paramore, senior vice president at Emdeon Business Services.
