Baltimore HIE Picks Vendor

A health information exchange in Baltimore, has selected Bellevue, Wash.-based HealthUnity Corp. as its platform vendor.

LifeBridge Health, a delivery system, and CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield in Maryland jointly fund the HIE, which is unnamed. The organizations hope to demonstrate interoperability between differing information technologies at the two independent organizations.

LifeBridge Health includes Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, and Jewish Convalescent & Nursing Home.
