A health information exchange sponsored by a 600-physician independent practice association serving members in the Tarrant County region of northern Texas recently went live.

Sandlot LLC, a subsidiary of Fort Worth-based North Texas Specialty Physicians, operates the HIE, called SandlotConnect. Dallas-based Healthvision provides the interoperability platform for the HIE, which includes data management software from Initiate Systems Inc., Chicago.

The HIE currently integrates with electronic health records software from Allscripts and NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Inc.

More information is available at sandlotmd.com.
