Hospital Links With its Docs

Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles has gone live with a physician Web portal to offer about 600 physicians remote access to inpatient data.

The 408-bed facility is using portal software from MEDSEEK Inc., Birmingham, Ala. Physicians will have access to the hospital's electronic health records, document imaging and management, and picture archiving and communication systems, among other applications.

The portal will enable the hospital to leverage its investments in information technology and enhance physician loyalty to the organization, says Cindy Eggert, vice president and CIO.
