Systems integrator Halfpenny Technologies Inc. has introduced a Web portal enabling physicians to order lab tests from a hospital or laboratory and review results through a standard Web browser.

The ITF-Portal application is a new feature in version 3.0 of the Blue Bell, Pa.-based vendor's Integration Technology Framework platform for health information exchanges. The portal is designed to help physicians meet expected meaningful use requirements--such as computerized physician order entry, laboratory test results reporting and quality reporting--under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, according to the vendor.

The portal supports generation of PDF documents for facilities unable to transmit or receive discrete data. More information is available at halfpenny.com.
