Google Inc. on May 19 officially launched its Google Health Web site, although the site remains labeled as “beta.”

The Mountain View, Calif.-based vendor launched the site following a pilot program with the Cleveland Clinic. Google Health offers personal health records software and medical information content; importation of official electronic medical records into the PHR, contingent on providers agreeing and vendors being Google partners; checking of medications for possible interactions; online prescription refill requests; and searching for physicians by location and specialty.

Vendor partners include, among others, Allscripts, CVS Caremark, HealthGrades, Hx Technologies, Medem, MediConnect, NoMoreClipboard, Quest Diagnostics, RxAmerica, SafeMed and Walgreen’s.

Google Health is available at google.com/health.
