John Glaser, vice president and CIO at Partners HealthCare System Inc. in Boston, soon will join the office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology in a temporary advisory role.
Starting May 4, Glaser says hell work four days a week for six months advising the national coordinator within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Hell focus on the issue of carrying out the health care information technology provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Last month, President Obama selected David Blumenthal, M.D., to serve as
national coordinator. Blumenthal was director of the Institute for Health Policy
and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, part of Partners. He took office
this week.
