The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society has named eight provider organizations as recipients of the 2008 Nicholas E. Davies Awards of Excellence for achievements in use of information technology, particularly electronic health records.
The Chicago-based organization in August gave awards in the field of public health to Cherokee (N.C.) Indian Hospital and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
Now, it has named Davies Award winners in three other categories. The organizational winner is Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
The ambulatory winners are Palm Beach (Fla.) Obstetrics and Gynecology; Edmond, Okla.-based Oklahoma Arthritis Center and Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia.
The Community Health Organization winners are Columbia Basin Health Associates in Othello, Wash.; White River Rural Health Center in Augusta, Ark.; New York City Children's Health Project; and Community Health Access Network in Newmarket, N.H.
