The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Chicago, has published a book offering guidance for information technology planning.
The Healthcare Information Technology Planning Fieldbook covers organizational considerations, technological guiding principles, relevant business cases, infrastructure approaches and cultural implications. The book also features nine case studies.
The authors are Gene Hickman, senior vice president and CIO at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center and Detlev Smaltz, CIO at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
