The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology has certified two more inpatient electronic health records systems under its 2007 criteria.

The certifications are Clinical Information System Version 9.0 from Glenwood, Minn.-based Dairyland Healthcare Solutions, and the Horizons Clinicals Suite of applications from San Francisco-based McKesson. The applications both received pre-market conditional certification, which means they will be fully certified once their use at a hospital has been verified.

So far, CCHIT has certified 12 inpatient EHRs under its 2007 criteria, which is no longer open for applications. The organization will begin accepting applications for certification under its 2008 criteria July 1.
