The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology has certified two more ambulatory electronic health records systems under its 2007 criteria.

The commission gave full certification to the Intergy EHR Version V4 from Sage Software Healthcare Inc., Tampa, Fla. It also gave the Noteworthy EHR Version 6.0 system from Noteworthy Medical Systems, Cleveland, pre-market conditional certification. This means that it will be fully certified once its use at a physician office site has been verified.

CCHIT has certified a total of 15 ambulatory EHRs under its 2007 criteria. It also has certified nine inpatient EHRs, (see http://www.healthdatamanagement.com/news/certification25517-1.html).

Complete lists of certified EHRs can be found at cchit.org.

A major success factor for accountable care organizations will be linking caregivers across the spectrum of care delivery. If history is any indication, that's going to be an industrywide struggle.
