Online Bill Payment Service Unveiled

A new service called PaymentExpress enables health care providers to offer patients online bill payment.

PSC Info Group, Valley Forge, Pa., receives billing information from hospitals and group practices electronically, then prints and mails bills to patients, along with information on how to pay the bill online. Working in partnership with InstaMed, a Philadelphia-based clearinghouse, PSC establishes private-label, password-protected online billing within a provider’s Web site. Patients then can view images of their bills on the site. They can submit payments using credit cards, debit cards or through medical savings accounts.

Patients can also register via the Web site to receive e-mail notifications of future bills posted on the site, rather than receiving bills in the mail.
