Experts will offer in-depth advice on strategies for earning federal incentives for electronic health records at Health Data Management’s Health I.T. Stimulus Summit. The conference will be held Sept. 17-18 in Boston.

Charles Christian, CIO at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind., will offer tips on developing an action plan. In addition, Dan Rode, vice president of policy and government relations at the American Health Information Management Association, will offer insights on how to set priorities to ensure maximum federal incentives.

A wide variety of other speakers will address such timely topics as: developing a “big bang” approach to adopting EHRs in a hurry, linking EHRs and personal health records and creating a hospital strategy for helping community physicians implement EHRs.

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, hospitals and physician group practices can qualify for extra payments from Medicare and Medicaid if they make meaningful use of qualifying electronic health records systems.
