InterSystems Corp. has released an integration platform to enable rapid implementation of new applications. The new platform, called Ensemble, is designed to incorporate the functions of integration and application servers, an object database, and development and management tools in one architecture.
Cambridge, Mass.-based InterSystems developed the platform to connect with diverse databases and platforms and make them all look the same, says Paul Grabscheid, vice president of strategic planning. In addition, Ensemble is designed to enable developers to use the tools they already have, he adds. "If an application uses Java we make them all look like Java," he says. "Or, if it's Web services integration, we make it all look like XML."
Ensemble is available on a variety of platforms, including HP Alpha OpenVMS, HP Alpha Tru64, Unix, HP-UX, IBM AIX, Linux, SunSolaris and Microsoft Windows.
