Michigan Med School Moves to Mobile

Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, will use PDAs, educational and health care software, and wireless infrastructure from Ann Arbor, Mich.-based CampusMobility. Terms of the multi-year agreement were not disclosed.

The medical school will use PDAs running the Pocket PC and Palm operating systems to enable students to use the vendor's software to complete classroom exercises and collect patient encounter information during clinical internships. The vendor also will install a wireless network and offer Web-based course content, course management and reference information on the PDAs.
