Medical School Creates Handy App
Barry University has created a PDA-based clinical database application for its medical students. The Miami Shores, Fla.-based school's medical students use the application to record demographic and treatment data for each patient as they work alongside specialty physicians. After finishing their required six weeks in a specialty, students return to class and wirelessly sync their PDAs with their professor's PDA to upload all treatment records. The combined records are then sent to a Microsoft access database at the school for analysis.
