Salt Lake City-based 3M Health Information Systems has launched ICD-10 consulting services to complement its suite of software to assist in migrating to the new diagnosis and procedure code sets.
Salt Lake City-based 3M Health Information Systems has launched ICD-10 consulting services to complement its suite of software to assist in migrating to the new diagnosis and procedure code sets.
The vendor's consultants will work onsite with a hospital's ICD-10 steering committee to perform an assessment of clinical documentation. Data analysis software will evaluate claims data to identify patient populations, specialties and diagnosis codes most affected by the new code set to aid in setting priorities.
Consultants also will train "documentation specialists" to help physicians capture more specific information in the patient record, as well as foster physician peer-to-peer education.
3M Health also has introduced new versions of existing clinical documentation programs that have been expanded with ICD-10 concepts and terms. More information is available at 3mhis.com.
