Mercy Care Plan, Phoenix, has selected case management software from Electronic Data Systems to automate case management functions. Plano, Texas-based EDS will implement and maintain the system under a five-year, $500,000 contract. Mercy Care, whose sponsor organizations are Catholic Healthcare West-Arizona and Carondelet Health Care Corp., provides medical care for Medicaid beneficiaries under a contract with the state. EDS will integrate the case management system with Mercy Care's administrative and finance systems to give case managers real-time data when tracking the progress of patients or researching alternative treatment plans.
