NIH Digitizes Grant Applications

The Bethesda, Md.-based National Institutes of Health will use document management services from Quality Associates Inc. into electronic PDF files. worth $500,000.

When the work is completed, authorized NIH staff members will be able to electronically search and access the applications, which are from the agency's National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Both agencies receive most new applications via NIH's www.egrants.gov Web site. The documents to be converted include mostly older grant applications.
