Two-hospital Blessing Health System in Quincy, Ill., will launch an information technology donation program for some community physicians.
The organization has signed a contract to implement practice management and electronic health records software at its multi-specialty Blessing Physician Services group practice with 40 employed physicians.
Blessing Health also will make the software available to 21 independent physicians and residents at the Quincy Family Practice Center.
Terms of the donation program were not immediately disclosed, but Blessing Health executives say the organization is taking advantage of federal changes to the Stark Act to encourage donations. The delivery system will use software from Allscripts LLC, Chicago. Terms were not disclosed. More information is available at blessinghealthsystem.com.
