Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health will implement document imaging and management software enterprisewide to support its electronic health records initiative.
The 26-hospital delivery system is implementing a suite of clinical software from Epic Systems Corp., Madison, Wis. Now, it also will use the OnBase technology from Hyland Software Inc. to scan paper documents and streamline physician review and approval of transcribed notes and other documents.
Terms of the contract, which is Westlake, Ohio-based Hylands largest in the health care industry, were not disclosed. Hyland, established in 1991, serves clients in more than 20 industries and has had a formal health care division for about six years.
Scanned documents will be stored in the OnBase repository but accessed and viewed by clinicians through the Epic system. More information is available at onbase.com/healthcare.
