Humana on Board With Blue Button

Health insurer Humana now is supporting the federally designed Blue Button PHR access technology to enable members to access their health and claims records held by the payer. Getting the records via the MyHumana.com Web site enables members to better understand and track their health benefits and validate bills, manage their care, identify issues they wish to discuss with their physicianss and share the payer-based medical history, according to Humana. Adoption of Blue Button is Humana's latest step to better support health information exchange as it expands into the provider market by acquiring clinics.
