Standards development organization Health Level Seven has released four new guides for implementing its Clinical Document Architecture in specific settings. The architecture from Ann Arbor, Mich.-based HL7 is a common framework for the exchange of health care information. It is a generic standard designed to be flexible. It can be adapted for certain uses through implementation guides. The new implementation guides cover diagnostic imaging, consultations, quality reporting and home health monitoring. The guides are available for review at www.hl7.org/dstucomments/index.cfm.
