A Look Ahead to 2008

This year was an eventful one for Health Data Management as we underwent two major projects: redesigning our print edition and completely overhauling our Web site.

We can't check off "done" on the Web site, and likely never will. We'll continue to make improvements on the back- and front-ends to make it easier for you to get the information you need in the format you'd like.

Our online services include our HDM Daily e-newsletter, and other e-newsletters designed to keep you updated about multimedia offerings and white papers. In addition, you can get an RSS feed of our content to your desktop.

Now, looking ahead ... during 2008 we will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of publishing Health Data Management. That's a pretty significant milestone in light of how the landscape is littered with numerous publications that closed up shop after a few years. The secret of our longevity is that we've stayed on message: year after year, we've delivered objective, unbiased content focused on providing you with the real world stories of technology implementations.

Next year will be no different in that regard.

We have restructured our editorial calendar to include in-depth, three-part series on topics important to our readers, including electronic records, point-of-care technologies, revenue cycle management and CIO issues (such as getting physician buy-in and "selling" ROI).

These series, and the rest of our print and online content, will provide I.T. leaders with the depth and breadth of information they need when developing their I.T. strategic plans and making decisions on technology purchases.

We have made significant investments in Health Data Management in 2007; those investments will pay off in 2008 as we provide more information and educational resources in a variety of different formats.

So enjoy the holidays, and expect big things from us in 2008.
