Circumstances conspired against Reirden, however, and it would be four years before the I.T. department integration task could get under way. Once it did, Reirden began developing a strategic plan to merge the I.T. departments from three Rhode Island hospitals: Warwick-based Kent County Memorial Hospital, and Butler Hospital and Women and Infants Hospital, both in Providence.
