2012 Best in KLAS
Industry research firm KLAS has released its annual "Best in KLAS Awards: Software and Services Report," a ranking of the best performing health I.T. vendors in nearly 100 market segments.
The results are based on nearly 20,000 provider interviews conducted by the firm this year. Following are winners in select software categories.
Epic topped the list in the Acute Care EMR category with its EpicCare Inpatient EMR, and also earned the No. 1 Overall Software Vendor award, with 1st place in eight different software categories.
The athenahealth athenaClinicals product topped the category; the company received the second most Best in KLAS wins. Amazing Charts was tops in this category in 2011.
The vendor scored highest in two ambulatory EMR products, in the 11-75 Physicians category and again in the Over 75 Physicians category.
Last year, the athenahealth athenaClinicals took 1st in the 11-75 Physicians category.
athenahealth scored again in the practice management system categories, with its athenaCollector product gaining top honors in the 1-10 Physicians and 11-75 Physicians categories. The Greenway Medical PrimeSuite system had earned top honors in both categories last year.
The Epic Resolute/Prelude/Cadence systems were tops in the Over 75 Physicians category.
The Diver Solution from Dimensional Insight topped this category; the vendor also scored 1st in last year's Best in KLAS report.
McKesson's Paragon system, as in 2011, was 1st among community hospital information systems.
Perceptive Software ImageNow took top honors this year, ahead of last year's winner, ChartMaxx from MedPlus/Quest Diagnostics.
The Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise product again took top honors in financial enterprise resource planning software.
The Dolbey Fusion Expert/Speech EMR scored the highest in the speech recognition category, topping the 2011 winner, eScription from Nuance Communications.
Homecare: Homecare Homebase
Laboratory: Siemens NOVIUS Lab
Oncology: Elekta MOSAIQ
PACS: DR Systems Unity v|Series PACS
Impact Advisors was named the No. 1 Overall Services Vendor in the 2012 report. The company also garnered top honors in the Planning and Assessment, and Clinical Implementation Principal categories.
Kansas City, Mo.-based Cerner Corp. took top honors, same as in 2011.
Claims and Clearinghouse Services: Navicure (ZirMed had taken top honors in 2011)
Extended Business Office: Cymetrix (PrincewaterhouseCoopers was tops in 2011)
I.T. Outsourcing (Extensive): Cerner Corp. (CareTech Solutions was No. 1 in 2011)
Transcription Services: Precyse (TransTech led this category in 2011)
Revenue Cycle Transformation: Huron Consulting (PrincewaterhouseCoopers was Best in KLAS in 2011)
