Throughout her distinguished career, Ms. Kloss has focused on effective governance, strategic change leadership, and advancement of health information management policies and practices with providers, technology and service companies, and governmental and non-profit organizations.
Ms. Kloss served as CEO of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) from 1995 to 2010, leading a period of unprecedented growth and expanded influence for this well respected professional society of 60,000 health information management professionals worldwide. Linda was recognized for expanding the influence of AHIMA through extensive collaboration and an expanded role in setting standards and shaping national policy for health information reform. In 2007 Modern Healthcare named her as one of the top 25 Women in Healthcare and from 2002 - 2007 to the list of the Top 100 people in Healthcare.
As principal for Kloss Strategic Advisors, Linda Kloss now speaks and writes on information asset management, strategy and organization development, and change leadership. She works with boards and senior teams of health care association on strategy and planning at a time of intense change in health care. She works with businesses and provider organizations on information management strategy and information governance. In 2011, Kloss was appointed to a 4 year term on the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics and co-chairs its Privacy, Confidentiality and Security Subcommittee. NCVHS advises the Secretary of Health and Human Services on national health information policy.
Linda holds a masters degree in organization development with a concentration on non profit change leadership, a baccalaureate degree in health information management and she was awarded an honorary doctoral degree from the College of St. Scholastica in recognition of her leadership to her profession and to the College. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) by the American Society of Association Executives and is certified by AHIMA as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), and has earned fellowship status from AHIMA.
