Timothy H. Murphy is the chief product officer for MasterCard. In this role, he leads the management, development and commercialization of payment solutions that create a sustainable competitive advantage for MasterCard and its customers. The Core Products group is responsible for Consumer Credit and Debit, Cardholder Solutions, Commercial, Prepaid, Loyalty Solutions and Access Prepaid Worldwide.Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Murphy was president, U.S. Region, where he was responsible for all aspects of building MasterCard�s business in the United States.Mr. Murphy also served as group executive of Customer Business Planning and Analysis where he was responsible for business planning, financial analysis and reporting, global pricing strategy, sales development and technology investment management. Previously, Mr. Murphy was senior vice president and associate general counsel for MasterCard.Before joining MasterCard in 2000, Mr. Murphy was an associate in the New York and London offices of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, an international law firm.Mr. Murphy graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and magna cum laude from Amherst College. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at Amherst.
