Sean McVity is a managing partner of Garnet Capital Advisors, LLC, a New-York-based financial-services firm providing in portfolio-sale and capital-raising advisory services in the distressed debt market. Sean manages Garnets Corporate Financial Advisory practice, and directs the firms international businesses, including the San Juan-based Garnet Las Américas division.Sean started his career on Wall Street at Credit Suisse First Boston in 1986, and entered the loan-trading market in 1990 when he moved to the Citicorp Corporate Loan Trading Desk. In 1991 Sean became a founding member of Meenan, McDevitt & Company, where he was a Managing Director and head of the firms Structuring and Sales Group. After MMCs acquisition by Société Générale in 1998, he became head of SGs Portfolio Sales Group. As a founding member of the Keefe, Bruyette & Woods loan sales group (2002-04), Sean was responsible for business development and led the development of a successful practice providing investment banking services to the debt-purchasing industry. A leading figure in the loan sales market, Sean has chaired numerous industry conferences, and has been published in the Journal of Lending and Credit Risk Management, Collections & Credit Risk, the Institutional Investor Bank Letter and other publications.
