Amy Friend

With more than 20 years’ experience in senior-level positions on Capitol Hill and with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Amy advises clients on a variety of regulatory issues.Amy most recently served as Chief Counsel of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, where she played a leadership role in developing legislative responses to the financial crisis, including the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Earlier in her career, Amy was Assistant Chief Counsel to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, where she was the lead representative on a number of interagency rulemakings under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. Amy also served as Minority General Counsel of the House Committee on Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs (now the House Financial Services Committee), and General Counsel to the Subcommittee on Consumer Affairs and Coinage.Amy earned a J.D., cum laude, at Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, at the University ofPennsylvania.To contact Amy: afriend@promontory.com
